Review of Estes Park, Colorado

Don't believe the lies from the town!
Star Rating - 8/4/2015
I have lived here for 12 years. My spouse and I have been trying to make enough money to get out of here! If you want to live in a place that's more than 25% higher to live than national average, jobs for 1/3 of the year, and those go to illegals, and the worst traffic you've ever seen, fine, your choice!
It's constantly windy, and the crime is awful. The police protect the criminals and illegals (don't want bad press for tourist town), and the town government is corrupt. Voting is rigged, businesses are sad t-shirt shops mostly, everything is ridiculously high, and it's by far the noisiest place I've ever lived (I've lived next to I-70!). The unemployment is way higher than stated. No one over 21 can find a job, because the illegals get them all. Property theft, property damage, slumlords, NO apartments for working people, just luxury condos and homes. Nepotism runs rampant, and the kids of the owners are the laziest most stuck-up privileged brats I've ever dealt with. Many workers here just DON'T GET PAID, especially if you're hired to do the deep cleans at the end of the season! You do all the work, and then they don't pay! The health department should close most of the restaurants, but they never come up here! The park is really a non-factor, except for the relentless traffic (locals will still pay full price, no discounts). The wildlife is less and less because of all the influx of people. And the police presence is nil, except for them constantly pulling over locals at night for no reason. Tourists will NEVER BE TOWED, even if they're in your private parking. You'll be sorry if you move here; just be a tourist that gets away with EVERYTHING!

I can't help but think if you wanted to be out that badly, it wouldn't take 12 years!
